Blanket Statement is a small craft business in London, Ontario Canada specializing in hand-made, Tied Quilted Blankets. A Tied-Quilt blanket starts with a bottom layer of soft, solid-coloured flannel, then a layer of quilt batting (100% polyester) followed by a flannel patterned "top" to complete the set. Then, all three layers are brought together, and "tied", with colorful "s"-knot bows of yarn with the edging sewn using a variety of stitches to create a frame also known as the technique of "binding a quilt."

Tied-Quilts are super soft, warm but light in weight, cuddly, and durable lasting many years with just being thrown into the washer and dryer to reappear all fluffed-up ready to go again.

What's extra unique about a Blanket Statement Tied-Quilt is that the patterns selected are used to make only one Tied-Quilt or a just a very few to ensure a level of "one-of-a-kind."

What Patterns do they come in?

Tied-Quilts come in calming, fun and seasonal patterns - Valentines Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Summer Fun...you get the idea! And, If you have a particular design or colour scheme in mind, let us know and we will do our best to add it to the collection. Coming Soon: Fall Warmth with Halloween spirit not far away (boo).

What are the Sizes and Prices?

Sizes* and Prices for Tied-Quilts are:

20" x 27.5" - ($39.00) - super for small cats or dogs
20" x 33.5" - ($59.00) - for larger fur babies or a lap quilt, a stroller cover, or for the back of a chair ready for all ages!
36" x 45" - ($89.00) - bigger, great for all kinds of uses, and snuggling!
Additional sizes are available upon request: 45" x 60", 36" x 70" and 72" x 90" - inquire

*Sizes for the currently available "Tied-Quilts For Sale" vary as they were the initial quilts created in order to define the best sizes overall.

About the Name:

Typically the saying "Blanket Statement" means saying something that "includes or affects everything, everyone, or all cases, in a large group." Together these words are sometimes used to blanket a thought covering many topics or a group of folks. Here at Blanket Statement though, we are hoping to add a new definition to the term by meaning the "blanketing" of a feeling - one of softness, a happy event, a holiday, a celebration, or just "because."
